Subscription Terms and Conditions

Thank you for subscribing to The Arrow: A Journal of Wakeful Society, Culture & Politics! Your readership supports transformative writing that informs thought leadership, policymaking, contemplative teaching, and more.

Subscription Access

Upon purchasing a subscription for yourself, you will gain access to all of our digital content, including articles published online and PDF issues available for download. You must be logged in to your user account to access content.

If you subscribed to our print edition as well as digital, you will receive a copy of the soonest print issue following your date of subscription. Please note that while your digital access to newly published issues will be immediate, there can be a delay with shipping of the print edition.

E-Newsletter Sign-up

When you purchase a subscription, you are automatically added to our email mailing list. We use this list to send announcements about new issues. Subscribers receive advance notice of issue publication before we email our general list. On average we send one email per month. As with any email marketing platform, you can choose to opt out of receiving these emails at any time. If you do, you will not receive announcements of newly published issues.

Account Management

You can access your user account in several ways. On every page of our website, there is a link in the upper right corner (on desktop) that allows you to navigate to your Account page. If you are logged in, the link text reads “Account.” If you are not logged in, the link text reads, “Log In.” When you click on either (and log in if needed), you will be taken to a page where you can manage your subscription, personal contact information, and method of payment. You can also quickly access all of our published issues with the “My Issues” button under the Home tab.

Subscription Renewal

To make your subscription easy to manage and enjoy, annual subscriptions are set to auto-renew one year from when you first purchase a subscription. You will receive an email reminder of your upcoming renewal 30 days in advance of the renewal date. You’ll also receive an automated email if your credit card is nearing expiration. (The monthly membership subscription renews monthly.)

Gift Subscriptions

If you purchase a gift subscription for someone else, two user accounts will be created: one for you to manage payment and one for the gift recipient to gain access to all of our issues. Please note, in the case of a gift subscription, it is the gift recipient who receives access to view current and past issues.

Multiple Subscriptions

If you purchase multiple subscriptions (e.g., one for yourself and a gift for someone else), you’ll be able to see and manage all of these subscriptions from your Account page.

User Responsibility for Account Management

As a subscriber, you are responsible for managing your subscription via your Account page. You can add, change, pause, or cancel a subscription at any time on this page. If you experience technical difficulties with managing your account, please contact us for assistance. Due to our small staff size, we cannot process refunds if you decide to cancel your subscription after the renewal date. Subscribers are responsible for monitoring our 30-day renewal reminder email. You may need to check your spam folder if you do not see this email in your inbox.
